Snowdrop looked from Fluttershy to Inkie Pie. She was feeling a little anxious herself now, though she couldn't have exactly explained why. Maybe she was wishing she had a big sister to be friends with Fluttershy too, since that seemed to interest the pegasus a lot, and would have been something to talk about. Maybe she was worried Fluttershy wouldn't understand that Inkie Pie was always kind of serious and anxious, and that you had to read her moods through shades of grey, as it were, and not expect her to show emotions like other ponies.
Maybe, although she hardly dared think of it, even to herself, maybe these two, who were both really quiet and calm ponies, thought she was too noisy and energetic for this party. That worry wilted Snowdrop a little, as it always did, and she decided to be a lot quieter. So she sipped her tea and looked up at the birds in the rafters. There was a pigeon up there that looked down on her so curiously and so kindly! It reminded her of Granny Weathermane. That thought really amused her, and she looked for her other friends among the birds.
The baby sparrow they had rescued, a little sad and worried- that would be Inkie Pie. And there was a robin sitting on a nest, very fatherly and protective of it- was that Kale? And that bluebird, taking such good care of it's feathers- That was like Princess Rarity. Fluttershy, so quiet and thoughtful, she was like that red-winged blackbird sitting on the clock there. Snowdrop smiled into her teacup, her good spirits restored. She didn't even have to wonder what kind of bird she would be. There was a hummingbird, zipping along at such a speed, darting here and there! That was unquestionably a Snowdrop. Without thinking about it, she giggled aloud.
