The Basics
Name: Applejack
Nickname/Alias: AJ
Species: Earth
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Group: Good Pony
Occupation: Farm Gal
Appearance
Fur/Mane/Tail: Applejack's fur is an earthy shade of organge, oftentimes dirty from her work on the farm. Faint traces of freckles grace her cheeks (Don't ask how they're visable through fur). Her mane and tail are long and blonde, both of which are tied back with multiple red bands in long, straight ponytails (Pun intended, I think). Other than a few places where her hair comes out of place, her hair is straight with just the slightest hint of a natural wavy spike to it
Clothes/Accessories: Just a dusty ol' cowgirl hat and the bands in her mane
Cutie Mark: Applejack's cutie mark is a trio of apples, representing her dedication and love for Sweet Apple Acres, as well as the 'Apple family'. It was actually her realization of just how much she wanted to live the farm life that made her cutie mark appear.
Overview: Applejack is one of the stronger mares in Ponyville, and she's got the atheltic build to proove it. She walks tall and proud, but maintains a humble expression on her face.
Personality
Personality Description: Applejack represents honesty in the elements of harmony, and that's very apple-core of her personality. She's a straight shooter, and absolutely hates being deceitful at all (like when she has to keep a secret) She's also dedicated to keeping her promises, even to the point of her own detriment, and is an incredibly hard worker. Sometimes, she even has trouble swallowing her pride and depending on another's help.
Applejack is a country gal through and through. She's got no problem getting her hooves dirty, or the rest of her, for that matter. In fact she absolutely hates 'frou-frou' stuff. She's dedicated and a hard worker, and is constantly working to improve Sweet Apple Acres and make it the best it can be. The only things more important to her than the farm is her family and friends. She will always faithfully support and help them however she can. If there was ever a pony could depend on, it'd be her.

History
History: Applejack was born into a big and loving family. As if from birth, she formed a strong bond with her big brother. Her excitable, outspoken attitude perfectly contrasted with Big Mackintosh's calmer, quiet personality. Young Applejack was an obedient little filly, doing what she was asked around the farm. But she always was against the tough workload that came with the farm, the work that Big Mac always seemed to prefer. She heard stories of her Aunt and Uncle Orange living the "civilized life". These stories charmed the young farm gal, but she couldn't turn her back on her family, especially at such a young age.
Applejack was thrilled to find that she had a younger sister... but her mother's death shortly after shattered the poor filly's heart, and her father's subsequent death only iced the cake. Her family was broken, she figured she wasn't really turning her back on anything at this point. She just announced to Big Mac and ol' Granny Smith that she was going off to Manehatten to live with Aunt 'an Uncle Orange. Long story short, poor Applejack realized only days later how wrong she was. She hated the civilized life, and longed for change. It wasn't until a rainbow greeted her eyes that she knew where she belonged, right back at Sweet Apple Acres, with her real family. At that moment, her cutie mark appeared and she knew returning home was the right thing.
Though she wasn't the oldest, it was almost a silent agreement from the day she returned that Applejack was going to take the reins of running Sweet Apple Acres. Big Mackintosh seemed to accept this just fine, taking on some of the more laborious duties around the farm, while she took on a more technical role around the farm. It's a life she wouldn't trade for anything, and she gives her blood, sweat, and tears for this farm, because it's as much a part of the family to her as anypony would be.

Just another day out in the orchards for Applejack. She's been through this so many times, she's nearly mastered the art of not letting a single apple miss one of the buckets below the tree. Apple buckin' season was in full swing, and she more than had her hooves full.
"Phew..." After several rows of trees, the mare's trusty hind legs started to feel a little tired, so she decided to sit right there, letting her hind legs give way beneath her. Applejack closed her eyes, letting the shade of the apple tree above cool her off.
"Sweet Celestia, every season apple buckin' seems a bit tougher instead of easier."
She mused to herself, rubbing a hoof on her flank to loosen up her tired muscles a bit.
"I really hope I didn't git Granny Smith's hip, can't have that now can we?" She laughed softly at the thought, perfectly confident that her buckin' hips worked just fine.
"Well, back to work..." She stood, calling out into the orchard. "Big Mac, I've got some more buckets full over here. Mind movin' 'em for me?" she held an ear in the air, waiting. But there was no response, no standard 'Eeyup' in the distance. Instead, a little filly rushed to her side, panting. It looked like little Applebloom had heard her from far off, and rushed over as fast as her hooves would carry her.
"Big Mac's... out... in town... gettin' stuff... for... Granny... But I...." Applebloom paused, finally catching her breath before continuing. "But maybe I could help? Maybe I'm supposed to grow up big 'an strong and have a cutie mark like Big Mackintosh!" she asks, a huge hopeful grin on her face.
Applejack sighed, she knew that she had a lot more bucking to do, and that she'd have to keep an eye on Applebloom if she was going to try the nearly impossible task of taking care of Big Mac's chores. "Alright, fine. Try startin' with that bucket over there." Applejack grinned. "If you'cn move that, we'll see about you taking something bigger."
Applebloom gave a hoof-salute, and rushed off to the bucket. The little filly shoved with all her might, barely able to move. Applejack felt a little bad at giving her such a tough job when she was only trying to be helpful, but she couldn't help but admire her little sis' determination. "Keep at it!" she calls out encouragingly, as she starts back at her bucking.
