Splat looked much more calm now, being in her element. She smiled at the warm greeting. "My studio? Why, I'm not too busy, come on up!" She chirped, only realizing once she turned her back that she was talking without even thinking... Oh well, he seemed like a nice, trustworthy pony anyway. She wouldn't want to offend her new friend after all! With a little tug of magic, the stairs to the studio swung downwards again, and she trotted up.
Once she was in the studio, she used her brief head start to try and clear some space, so that it would be a mess acceptable to others, and not just to herself. In all honesty, she just pushed anything that was on the floor aside. Aside from the large one leading to the balcony, there were no windows at all. However, she seemed to have painted several on the walls. One seemed to look out, deep into the Everfree forest, whiile another one looked like it was from a mountain peak, and a third was looking down from the Canterlot Castle.
"Here we are," she said, turning. "Studio sweet studio." she added with a smile. She glanced over to the flower in the vase, as if reminding herself that it's there if things got as uncomfortable as the first time the two of them met.

The studio did not have many windows, although it did have a good view of the forest, the mountain, and a castle. Reake seemed to follow Splattershade slowly and quietly as he looked at the view around the town. That was until he noticed a familiar flower in a vase. A smile came to his face as he thought of her actually using something like that.
"I can see you have a nice place here. I was wondering why I don't see more of your paintings around town? I hope I didn't make you to uncomfortable last night. You the most colorful pony I have met, and you are an artist I just can't help but be curious about you. Hopefully next time I bump into on accident i won't surprise you so much."

Like a switch, bringing up how uncomfortable last night was only brought it back. Splattershade scuffed a hoof, deciding to address the rest of his statement and simply avoid the rest. "Oh, I'm still pretty new in town myself. I haven't really sold many paintings yet. Although a good friend of mine did commission me for a mural!" She seemed to cheer up a bit at the thought.
"And don't worry about surprising me last night, it actually turned out better than I'd hoped!" she grins, levitating the unframed painting across the room. It depicted Luna, or at least, her silhouette against the moon, descending from the night sky an a road of starlight, a road that was formed by her accidental streak of color.
Smiling, she set the painting down in the corner, before turning back to her guest. Looks like she has to address the rest now. "And... thank you, I don't think I've met anypony as honest and complimentary as you." A blush fights its way through her painted fur. "So..." she scuffs a hoof. "What exactly are you curious about?"

Today was the day! Rarity giddily made her way to Splattershade’s gallery. Quite a bit of time had passed since the two mares thought up a business proposition, and today, Rarity was ready to set things in stone. The gallery looked as inviting as ever. The door was ajar, most likely allowing fresh air to flow through.
“Hello~” she sang, prancing through the opening and quickly whipped her mane to one side. “Splattershade, darling, it is Rarity, I am here to-- Oh, why hello there.” She gave a soft smile to an obvious new comer, “I do not believe I have seen you around Ponyville before.” With a pensive eye she looked over the stallion before her. He was rather grungy: A long mane all tied up in what would be a braid, a dark coat with outrageous markings, and a…..questionably affectionate cutie mark. It certainly didn’t seem to fit his look.
She blinked a few times, gathering herself from gawking. “My name is Rarity. It is so lovely to meet you.” She smiled up at Splattershade, “I see I am not the only fan of your artwork! I came to discuss the mural, but if you are busy, I shouldn’t be a bother. Would you prefer that I come back later?”
Rarity, alone in her thoughts, was never a good thing. For anypony, really. Splattershade was relatively new to town…and here was another new pony, talking with her inside of her gallery. Perhaps it was a stallion from home, coming to visit…or maybe he moved here for her! Splattershade certainly had….interesting taste. But who was she to judge, what, being single and all. Plus, he did have a devastatingly adorable heart-shaped cutie mark. Perhaps he was quite the romantic... [Sorry it is so short. Just needed to get her in.]

Reake heard a female voice from down stairs and was distracted from answering his question. The voice very quickly came into the same room as himself and Splat. She was all white, with a horn, and jems for her cutie mark. If he was any other pony he would have assumed she was one of those stuck up types. Reake wasn't sure, but there was much more to her then that.
As she introduced herself as Rarity she seemed to be analyzing him. Her eyes were so familiar and seemed to pierce into him. Not in a way that was intimidating. She was definitely someone he should pay attention to. Reake smiled to introduce himself in his usual way.
"It is a pleasure to meet you meet you Miss Rarity. My name is Reake. I met Miss Splattershade last night when she was painting a beautiful sky. We had a nice conversation and she was so interesting that I decided to come and visit her again today. I was hoping for a tour of her studio, and after that she would show me around town."

Splattershade was actually relieved to hear another voice enter the Gallery. Not that she didn’t enjoy Reake’s charm and compliments, but she really didn’t like feeling so flustered. “Rarity? Is that you?” She peered over the edge of her studio’s balcony, smiling to see the unicorn trot inside. “Hey there, come on in, I’ll be right down!” She gestured for Reake to follow her back down into the gallery,
“Rarity’s comissioning me to do a mural for her botique” She explained to Reake over her shoulder, once her introductions were done. “And it’s fine, I’ve got the time. I was just showing Reake here around the gallery and helping him around town. He’s very new.” She explained with a slight smile.
“Did you decide on the through-the-wall perspective mural? It will certainly open up the room, but I don’t want it to seem too demanding or distracting, I could try something else, maybe just a simple display of your designs in differing styles? A little Art-Deco here, a little surrealism there....” Her mind drifted off, trying to recall the dress designs she was shown before and mentally repurposing them in artistic terms.
"OH! I'm sorry Rarity, how rude of me. You're welcome to walk with us if you want, and we can talk along the way. That is... unless you have a problem with it, Reake?" She asked with a hopeful smile.

Rarity’s facial expression changed multiple times as the pair met her downstairs. Starting at a state of genuine excitement, falling to uncertainty with the introductions, back to a positive grin as the mural was brought to focus, then ending with a furrowed brow and nip of her lip. ‘Reake’ she said repeatedly in her mind. She let up on eyeing him, just as he began to do so to her.
“I certainly do not wish to impose on your time together, darling.” She glanced at Reake, raising her brows, silently questioning why he was still gawking. Normally, she would have more than accepted the attention- she would have reveled in it, really. But, he was making her…rather uncomfortable. “Do you need something?” the question came out sharp, if not rude. But she failed to retract her implied claws, instead, taking a step back, trying to allow the whole picture in.
They had just met, and she was doing all of this for him? Hospitality was one thing…but Reake gave the appearance of a leech. Suspicion was not pretty on Rarity, (most of her extreme moods never were.) She wasn’t known for being an exceptional judge of character…but something was clearly off here.
“Reake, where is it that you are staying?” Rarity's tone was a bit territorial, quite unbecoming, and so she cleared her throat in an attempt to start over. “What I mean is, are you here in Ponyville tentatively?” She wished to learn as much about him as she could, perhaps then she would understand just what his angle was.

Splattershade and Rarity seemed to be business partners and quite friendly with each other. Rarity was definitely a smart one and she seemed to know just what questions to ask. There was one trick he learned long ago to deal with this.
"You don't have to worry Miss Splattershade, I do not mind having Miss Rarity with us. There will plenty of time for us to talk, since we have not been talking about anything private just yet. I don't mean to stare Miss Rarity, but i always make sure to remember what every pony I meet looks like."
"I am a relationship adviser of all sorts, and I am also a very accomplished herbalist. Miss Splattershade has been so nice to me that I decided that I should help her with whatever she might need. You see I couldn't help but be interested in such beautiful artwork."
"As to where I am staying. While I do plan on making a permanent residence in Ponyville, I am currently staying in the forest. I would not dare impose on anyone's home. If you need anything Miss Rarity I would be more then happy to get something out of my bag for you."
Reake was always great at speaking, he never needed to pause so everything he said would sound genuine. This Rairty was going to be trouble, but he knew he would have to deal with her being around. He needed someone like Splat first, she was connected through her art. When he was done with her, she would know how cold and lonely the world really was.

Splattershade was... well, flat out confused. She wasn't blind to the subtleties of the back-and-forth that Rarity and Reake were silently having. Her artist's eye for detail easily picked up on it. Understanding it... was a whole other bag of oats.
Splat was still trying to process whether or not the two of them really were getting along, when one word stuck out to her. "Private? What?" she gave Reake a surprised and confused look. Surely he didn't think she was somepony how needed his... "relationship services"?
A blush once again fought its way to her fur. "Don't worry, Rarity. You're not imposing at all. I'd love to have you along with us!"
