Tuxedo Thunder stood at the library door. He knew he needed Twilight's help, and that was the one thing he would never accept, ever! So there he stood outside of her door. His thoughts were conflicted. One part was saying he needed her help, and the other refused to believe it. He reluctantly knocked on her door, awaiting an answer. He wasn't sure if Twilight had gotten word of his goals, and he hoped she hadn't. As he waited, the part of him that didn't want her help was trying to get him to walk away. But he was adamant with his decision. He was going to ask Twilight for help, and that was final. He sat there, hoping she was even home, waiting for the door to open and for her purple head to pop out. She was going to look at him with those giant purple eyes and ask "What do you need? " or "Who is it? ". While he was sitting there, he began to realize that this may have been a terrible mistake. He was beginning to doubt she didn't know his goal to become better than her at magic. He sat and hoped he wasn't walking into something he wouldn't be able to get out of.

Ignoring the unicorn waffling in front of the library, Swirly Mists walked in with a smile on her face. She simply had to find that book on gemstones so she could properly identify her newest acquisition and--
Her eyes widened as they fell upon the librarian.
"My my my, is that you, little Sparkle? Oh my, it is!" The elegant mare strode forward, ruffling the scholar's mane affectionately. "Ha, last time I saw you you only came up to my knee. Oh, and this was unmarked!" A black hoof traced the lavender bips quickly. "And now look at you, wonder mage of the generation, student to Celestia herself, a national hero, and no doubt the reason that colt is waiting outside, hmm? Don't deny it, you must get hounded by suitors--"
She gasped suddenly, then started laughing. "Oh, my apologies! I let nostalgia get the better of me. I am Swirly Mists, I was the historian in the library you went to while you were young. Do you remember me at all?"

Tux put his hoof up to his face. If he had tried the door, he could have walked in, gotten the book, and walked out. That didn't matter now, he could go in and get his book then get out. Nothing has changed, no revisions to his plans, everything would still work out That's the part that scared him. Tux had planned for his plan to be easily adapted to fit any situation. Giant monster attack, Tux had a adapted plan for that. Earthquake, Tux had a adapted plan for survival. There was nothing he hadn't planned for. Nothing except nothing, that is. He had only been back in Ponyville for a few weeks, but he knew that the day to day happenings were anything but regular. But, it might have just been a string of strange events. Either way, Tux was thinking about planning for regular occurrences as he walked into the library.
