It took a few days on hoof, but Resolute Serf had made it to Ponyville, smiling to himself as he had found that he made better time than he thought he would. The pony who sent him the letter asking him to meet him there said that they were to meet the following day- meaning he arrived a day early. Ponyville itself was so new to him, compared to Hoofington at least, enough so that he felt a bit out of place.
Walking around, the stallion shook away thoughts of just plopping down on the ground. He may have grown in poverty- but he had standards, darn it! Perhaps there was a place- a small restaurant or something like that where he could sit down, maybe get a small bite to eat. He was grateful that his parents had spared him an extra couple of bits for the trip- but he also felt guilty at the same time. Back in Hoofington, his parents and himself barely made enough money to support themselves on a daily basis; it was hard to imagine how they were faring after sparing him parts of their earnings.
His train of thought was cut short, however, once Res realized that he had no clue where he was even going, managing to get himself lost in the first five minutes no less!

Tux was taking a stroll through Ponyville, or that is atleast what it looked like. He was getting impressed with how easily he deceived the other ponies. He was actually slowly making his way back towards his house, but was taking several unnecessary turns and making several pointless stops. He had just stopped by an old mine he found, in the Everfree Forest, and he was carrying a small gem stone. He was planning on bringing it up to Jasper, when it occured to him somepony might want the gem stone, so he began to walk a fake trail through Ponyville. As he was walking, he noticed a yellow earth pony walking aimlessly. He began to look lost, so Tux went up to try and help him while the thought that he might want the gem was bouncing around his brain. "Hi, I noticed you were lost, where are you trying to go?" Immediately after that, Tux felt worried. He knew that this pony was most likely harmless, like all of the others that pass through. But the thought remained that he could be planning to rob him of his hard work. As Tux waited for a response, he began trying to map put a quick escape route in his head, so that he could run if this yellow earth pony made a threatening move

After a few moments of wandering, the yellow earth pony came to an abrupt halt when somepony called out to him, looking to his left to see a maroon unicorn pony. He was a little embarrassed that he was caught looking lost, but he took a breath and kept a calm smile on his face. "Well...Yeah, I kinda am a bit lost. I just arrived a few minutes ago, and I was trying to find a place to sit down, a restaurant or something." he replied, only then realizing he forgot to introduce himself.
"I-I'm sorry, I completely forgot to introduce myself." He apologized, smacking himself on the head with his hoof. "My name is Resolute Serf, it's nice to meet you." he introduced himself formally, a shy smile on his face.

Well...Yeah, I kinda am a bit lost. I just arrived a few minutes ago, and I was trying to find a place to sit down, a restaurant or something. Tux was still skeptical about this one, but he seemed harmless. "Theres two places we could go, Sugar Cube Corner is a bakery, and there's one other, I always forget what they call it. They are both relatively close." Tux was beginning to ease up, for he saw something special in this pony, but he could not explain it. He waited for Serf to give him a reply, and he began to formulate a plan. He would go to Jasper about the gem tomorrow and he would see what was so special about Serf after a quick meal. He was going to bring him to his house and tell him he could stay for awhile, and while he was there, he would perform harmless experiments on him. Well, at least he thought they were harmless, he had never gotten the chance to actually test them on a subject, alive or dead. He hoped they wouldn't kill him, he looked like he had something to do here, unlike the ones that just pass through town for some unkown reason.

As the unicorn was explaining to him which places there were, Serf pondered which of the two he should go to. The Sugarcube Corner sounded nice enough, as he imagined a bakery just from the name. The other place- the one where neither of them knew the name of, also had potential from what he could imagine. He couldn’t figure out which one to go to, and gave it some thought. He had enough money to get himself a meal at a restaurant, but then again he was basing it on Hoofington’s prices rather than anything else. He thought back to when he’d pass by one of the high-society restaurants after a day of cleaning windows, how his mind would wander on how the place looked on the inside. What made him snap out of his thoughts this time was the sound of his stomach growling- a slight blush making its way to his cheeks as a result. Talking about food wasn’t helping either, but some things just couldn’t be helped. He didn’t need anything huge, so Sugarcube Corner sounded the most sensible.
“I don’t mean to be a bother, but would you be able to direct me to Sugarcube Corner?” he asked. It was odd asking another pony for help, as if he had broken a rule or something. He had been so used to helping others back home that the reverse situation was foreign to him. He was almost scared that he had done something wrong already.

I don’t mean to be a bother, but would you be able to direct me to Sugarcube Corner? Tux was surprised. He hadn't expected this pony to seem so... taken back by asking for something. It was strange, but he shook off the thought as nervousness. He pointed to the east and said "Sugar Cube Corner is just around the corner." Tux chuckled a bit at his comment, not realising what he had said until after the fact. He then realised that this one might not have much money, since he hadn't come on train. Tux then decided to offer to buy some food for the two of them. "Before you run off, let me buy both of us some food. I have some extra bits." He felt that he would easily be able to snag him up for experiments at this point. He would aşk him if he had a place to stay over lunch, and would offer one if he didn't already. Now Tux could just hope he wouldn't have a place to stay, though the thought sounded bad natured, there was something about serf that seemed, different. Tux would use experiments to find out what it might be.

‘Sugar Cube Corner is just around the corner.’ the unicorn had replied and Serf smiled softly. Now that he knew where it was, he could head over to see what they had. “Around the corner.” he repeated to confirm that he understood before nodding. “Thank you, sir.” He finished, going to turn to head off for Sugarcube Corner. He did not expect Tux to call out to him so quickly, and that lead to him tripping over his own hooves and falling on his face in an attempt to stop himself and turn around to face the unicorn once more. He stood back up, using a hoof to dust himself off- although there was little to no dirt on him. He managed to hide it, but he was shocked at what Tux had offered.
A small part of him was eager to accept the offer, but he knew he couldn’t do so. He knew Tux’s meant well, but he just couldn’t allow himself to trouble the stallion with his financial dilemma. “What?” he asked rhetorically in order to buy himself a very brief moment of time in order to work out a way to decline the offer. “N-no, I can’t ask that of you...I appreciate the offer, I really do, but I just can’t.” he replied, trying to be as polite as he could about it.

Tux was beginning to think all of his planning was going to go up in flames when he heard Serf's reply. Normally, Tux would just have given up then and there, but he could not just let his test subject walk away! He walked over to Serf and said "I have plenty of bits to spend, and I can give you a place to stay for awhile if you don't have one." Tux was confident that he could convince Serf to stay with him, for atleast a night or two. He was about to say something about needing some help with something when there was a loud noise of unknown origin, coming from Sugar Cube Corner. It sounded like a piano smashing against a something metal based. Tux rushed around the corner to see something strange. It looked like a small creature with little arms was smashing a piano into things. Tux stood dumbfounded. It was clearly something from out of the Ever Free Forest, but he had never heard of anything like that monstrosity. He couldn't see Twilight or anypony trying to subdue the monster. He decided to go and find somepony who knew what was going on.

Declining the offer was tough before, but Serf watched as the unicorn walked up to him justifying the offer and even offering him a place to stay. That stymied his efforts to not be a burden- as he hadn't even accounted for where he'd even stay while waiting to meet his contact. He began to wonder about why this stallion was being so generous, but when he really thought about it- he didn't have much to lose. Relenting, the earth pony smiled shyly. "T-Thanks...I really appreciate it." he replied- accepting the unicorn's offer, just when the sound of a piano smashing into metal rang in his ears. As Tux rushed to see the scene, Serf quickly followed and saw a small creature with little arms- the source of the sound being clear to him as he saw the piano it was smashing around.
While Tux was dumbfounded, Serf quickly began to ascertain what was going on. He never saw this creature before, but he could gather just by its actions that it was a threat to Ponyville. He may not have known many of these ponies, but he just couldn't fight his urge to do something about this- he was compelled to help out in any way he could. The creature may have been strong enough to swing a piano around with its puny arms, but it was small enough to be assumed to be a lightweight creature. If I can just get it away from that piano... he thought, only to wince as a piano key, launched by the piano being smashed around, had hit him in the snout and fell in-front of him. Looking down at it, he quickly thought up of a plan.
Placing his hoof just behind the piano key, Serf kicked his hoof up, lobbing the make-shift projectile at the creature as he planted his hooves and prepared himself. Once the key hit the creature, the yellow stallion took advantage of the brief diversion and galloped towards the creature, throwing caution to the wind. Before the creature could resume smashing the piano, Serf had tackled it away from the broken instrument and could only assume he pinned it down. The creature recovered faster than the stallion expected and grabbed him by the hoof. He could only murmur a soft "Uh-oh" before inevitably being swung around himself, first being slammed onto the ground, and then flung into the broken piano- the latter of which broke into even more pieces from the impact.
((ooc: I figured I could put his reckless habit of disregarding his own safety in order to help another and having it turn sour on him))

Tux was horribly worried. Serf almost killed himself trying to fight the creature, and he needed immediate medical attention. Tux had to decide, should he get Serf to safety, but at the cost of more hurt ponies, or should he try to divert the creature and help Serf later. Tux mumbled a curse under his breath, knowing he was horrible when it came to decisions, even more when they were important. With the monster weaponless, he might be able to launch something at the creature. But Tux began to loose faith in that thought when he recalled Serf's act of bravery. He finally decided that Serf needed to get out of there, and he might find somepony to help him along the way.
Now there was the matter of getting to Serf. He was in the center of all of the destruction, with the monster nearby his banged up body. If he could distract it for just a moment, then he might be able to get Serf to safety. Tux used a telekinesis spell to pick up a random piece of shrapnel, which happened to be a wooden beam, broken in half. He built up a lot of power and shot it at the monster. With it's back turned, the beam caught it by surprise, and knocked it to the ground. Tux had been galloping towards Serf since he had shot the wooden beam at the monster, and he had him on his back, galloping away, before it got up again. Tux ran towards the library, where he could get Twilight Sparkle's help if she was home, or at least let Serf get some rest while he researched the monster. Tux began to gallop towards the Library, hoping this problem could be solved quickly and without anypony else getting hurt.

As Serf let out a soft, pained groan, the stallion looked at the monster that threw him. He was relieved it had spared him, or maybe it had been too angry to think straight that finishing him never occurred to it. He tried to get himself back to his hooves, but only managed to get some of the wrecked piano off of himself before falling on his face as his front right leg crumpled and an insanely sharp pain shot up his leg. Gritting his teeth and shutting his eyes, he muttered a curse as the pain subsided and he took a deep breath, opening his eyes once again, watching the monster go on its rampage.
"Come on.." he murmurred, trying to force himself to stand, but the beating he took had begun to catch up to his body. He knew at least his right front leg was broken, but he couldn't account for anything else as too many places on his body hurt for him to focus. Falling on the ground and closing his eyes again, Serf had missed what Tux did- and was bemused once he felt his body being lifted and soon rested on the back of another pony. "Huh?" he opened his eyes again, looking at who was carrying him: None other than Tux, who was taking him somewhere else. He didn't know where they were going, but he couldn't think too much on it before his eyes closed slowly while he passed out.

Tux had tried to stop, but insted he skidded and smashed open the library door. He had managed to keep Serf protected from any more damage to his body, especially his broken leg. He noticed no one was there, and thought that this must be a big problem, and for all he knew, Celestia could be briefing her and her friends at that very moment. Tux laid Serf down on Twilight's bed, knowing she wouldn't mind. Tux went down into the library section thinking to himself outloud. "This tiny monster with god-like strength is attacking Ponyville, but why?" Tux was trying to find some sort of point that he could use for referencing a book. Then it hit him. A being with god-like strength, or a demon, sealed like Discord, that has simply escaped. He used a quick teleportation spell to go to the M section. "M...Y, ah, yes, here it is." Tux then used his magic to heave a massive book from section MYT. The front cover read 'Mythos:A guide to everything that has ever mattered in Equestria'. Tux opened up to the entry on Discord, written by Celestia herself. There was a area of fine print that read:For more on the Deities of Chaos, go to page 1097. He turned page after page with his magic, untill he got to page 1097. There, he found several entries. One stuck out to him. It took him a split second to realize that it was the very same thing rampaging through Ponyville at that very second. He began to read the entry as soon as he realized the key to defeating it might be there. The entry read : Havoc, the deity of destruction was the strongest of the Chaos Deities, but he was not very smart, which lead to a quick defeat. He may seem un-intimidating in terms of size, but he has much more power than anything that big. The only way to defeat Havoc was for Celestia and Luna to use a spell that made Havoc shrink down to almost nothing, then a second spell that trapped him in the largest tree in The Ever Free Forest, where he was to never escape a massive maze with no exits or entrances. He was told he could go free if he solved the maze, which was impossible to do. It is believed that only the return of Discord could cause an exit to appear. If Havoc does escape, a copy of the spell has been left on the Next page of this book, but be warned, the spell could cause possibly live threatening injuries to the user, if the said user is not careful. Tux quickly turned the page and saw the spell. It seemed simple enough, so he shut the book after glancing over the spell one last time. He neatly placed the book back in section MYT and quickly grabbed a piece of paper and a quill. He wrote 'Gone out to defeat Havoc, will be back soon to take Serf to a hospital. From:Tux' and placed it on the table. He turned to the door and opened it, galloping off to find Havoc.

Not too long after Tux left the library did Serf slowly come to, tensing up and wincing as his leg throbbed slightly. Once he took a breath and got used to the pain, the yellow stallion opened his eyes and saw he was no longer outside. However, once he found out that he was on a bed, Serf realized that he was in somepony’s house. Most ponies would think that the circumstances might have justified this, but that wasn’t his style. He was intruding at the very least, and he just didn’t feel right at the thought of it. His instincts getting the better of him, he managed to get off of the bed, adjusting the positions of his legs in order to better balance himself as his right front leg was kept up to prevent himself from causing anymore harm to it. Looking at the bed, he noticed the sheets were messed up and opted to rectify that. Slowly pulling each corner of the sheets with his mouth, one at a time of course, the stallion began to straighten them up- spending almost five minutes just to get it perfect.
A soft smile on his face, the stallion then realized that he had forgotten about Tux. “S..Sir?” He asked, slowly making his way down to the library to see if the maroon unicorn was still there. “Sir? If you’re here, please say something..” he requested, but received no answer. He began to think that the unicorn had gone off to fight that tiny titan, and upon seeing a large open book and a note, the earth-pony’s guess was confirmed. Reading the note first, Serf learned the name of ‘Sir’, Tux. Alright, so Tux is his name.. he noted in his head before thinking a little. He was awake and able to move, although the latter was more questionable than the former. His first thought was simply to write down that he left on his own to go to the hospital, but almost as soon as the thought crossed his mind, he he tensed up as another wave of pain coursed through his body.
"I guess I'll go with the practical solution.." he muttered as he remembered the flaws in his favored plan: there was no guarantee that he could even get far enough, and he didn't even know where the hospital was. The earth pony carefully moved to lay down on the floor, making sure he was out of the way in-case anypony wished to come into the library. He doubted that this would be the case, but it did not hurt to keep all ends covered.

Tux ran out into Ponyville too look for Havoc. He thought it would have been easy and straightforward, but it wasn't. There had been so much that was destroyed, Tux didn't know where to go. He looked around, found a couple injured and trapped ponies, which he helped, and then he finally found Havoc. He was running around, trying to hit some defenceless earth pony trying to hide under some rubble. Tux looked directly at Havoc and shouted "HEY! OVER HERE! YOU TINY LITTLE WEAK NUB!" It got the desired effect, and Havoc turned to see Tux jumping around like an idiot, trying to get his attention. Havoc roared at Tux and started to run at him. Tux tried to open a hole in the ground with a telekinesis spell, just long enough to hold Havoc there. It barely worked, and a hole opened, and then closed the second Havoc fell in. Tux went to work, quickly getting the forever maze spell ready. He could hear Havoc scratching at his dirt prison, shrieking as he tried to dig out. Tux was prepared to fire the spell when Havoc was seconds from the surface, and he spent no time waitng to fire. He shot his spell, and it created the un-escapable maze which Havoc would be trapped in forever. He took a piece of rubble, a wooden stake, and stabbed it into the ground over top the maze. He took another, larger piece and, with some yarn from somewhere in all of the destruction, and tied the pieces together. He took a sharp piece of stone rubble, then enscribed 'Here lies Havoc, the Deity of Destruction, trapped forever in a maze' Tux then hobbled back to the library, his lack of rest and large amount of minor injuries were beginning to catch up with him.

As he waited for Tux to return, Serf began to worry about everything that was going on. Havoc was on a rampage, Tux had gone to stop him- and here he was being practically useless. He knew he had probably helped out by tackling the creature earlier, but he had wound up making a bother out of himself in the process. For all he knew, Tux could be having a lot of trouble out there, other ponies could be getting hurt- and he wasn't doing anything to help. This did not help Serf much, as he absolutely despised being useless to others.
Fortunately, his guilt-destined train of thought was broken at the sound of a door opening, and Resolute Serf looked up to see that Tux had returned- a little worse for wear, but he seemed to be triumphant. "Are you alright?" was the first question that came out of his mouth as he went to stand back up, stopping once he had shifted his broken leg.
